Since 1990, Dr. Gorman has treated thousands of injured workers and believes that rehabilitation starts at the time of injury. Practically, this occurs by seeing patients promptly after injury, thoroughly evaluating them, assessing the compensability of the claim (work-relatedness), and returning them back to work as soon as possible.
In addition to communicating well with employers and case managers, any pertinent temporary or permanent restrictions are always addressed, and all reports and return to work forms are completed on the day of service. The patient will be followed to a plateau of care (maximum medical improvement) at which time any applicable impairment is determined.
Our entire staff is committed to facilitating communication between the many people involved in workers’ compensation claims – injured workers, employers, insurance adjusters, nurse case managers, medical consultants, hand therapists, and attorneys. Case managers are always welcome to use our conference room and Wi-Fi when in Johnson City.
