Appointments

Our office hours are 8:00 am – 6:00 pm, Monday through Thursday.  Please call 423-282-5332 to schedule your appointment – during normal business hours, a member of our staff is always available to answer your call (no automated attendant or answering machine here).  After hours, you may leave a message with our answering service and your non-emergent call will be returned when our office re-opens.

Although the convenience of online appointments may seem appealing, there is no way that we can schedule efficiently with an online form since the complexity of your particular problem and the estimated time required for each patient can vary greatly.  As a result, our staff has been trained to request the specific information from you that we need to estimate the appropriate appointment length and to maximize the value of your visit to our office.  It is very important that you let us know about any previous treatment you have received for your current condition (or for anything else hand-related) and we will make every effort to assist you in obtaining outside records so they will be available for review when you are seen in our office.

We do not make a habit of double-booking or scheduling multiple patients for the same appointment slot – the appointment time that you are given is set aside specifically for you, and we do our best to see you promptly.  However, on the rare occasion that we run behind, please be patient with us and remember that when it is your turn, you will receive all the time that is needed to do a complete examination and discuss treatment options.  As a courtesy to our other patients, when your plans change and you are unable to keep your scheduled appointment, kindly give us a minimum of 24 hours advance notice so that we may fill that slot with someone who is on our waiting list.

Fill Out Your Patient Registration Forms

To make the most of your office visit, please complete your patient registration forms well in advance of your appointment date (this allows us to identify and request past medical records that may be helpful to Dr. Gorman in diagnosing your problem, as well as to minimize the time you spend doing paperwork in the office).  The process is easy and secure with our online submission – no printer or paper is needed.  On the actual date of your appointment, please bring the following:

  • Your insurance card
  • A government-issued photo ID
  • Payment for your co-pay and co-insurance
  • A list of questions you want to ask the doctor

If you are unable to submit your patient registration forms in advance of your appointment, please arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled appointment time and bring any information you may need to complete your medical history (lists of allergies, prescriptions, and over-the-counter drugs taken – including dose and frequency; previous medical records and test results related to your condition – including CDs and reports of any previous x-ray, MRI, or CT scans).
