Paul Gorman, MD
Originally from southwest Texas, Dr. Gorman graduated from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston medical school in 1984. After completing a five-year orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, he completed a one-year hand fellowship at the University of Florida College of Medicine.
Dr. Gorman limits his practice exclusively to common problems of the hand and wrist. He started Trinity Hand Specialists in 2005 after 15 years as the hand surgeon for a large orthopaedic group in Johnson City, TN. His clinic is the region’s first and only free-standing hand care office designed and staffed to uniquely serve the needs of patients with hand and wrist problems.
Board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, with a certificate of added qualification (CAQ) in hand surgery, Dr. Gorman is a member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Tennessee Medical Association, and the Tennessee Medical Impairment Rating Registry. When not seeing patients in his office, Dr. Gorman shares his interest in all things related to the hand by helping instruct first-year students at the ETSU Quillen College of Medicine in hand and arm anatomy.
He resides in Jonesborough with his wife, Debbie, and has three adult children. When not working at his profession, he can often be found working on his farm and enjoying the outdoors. Dr. Gorman is active in his church and in his spare time also enjoys mountain biking, hiking, reading, and relaxing on his front porch enjoying the beautiful mountain sunsets of East Tennessee.
